I consider "paraphilia" and "sexual orientation" to be synonymous. I believe that conversion therapy should be legalized for anyone who wants to be heterosexual, but isn't, including pedophiles. I strongly suspect that the vast majority of pedophiles, as in people who have the paraphilia to be attracted to children, never abuse real children. Those that do should hang in my opinion. But those who don't should be able to seek therapy without having to worry too much about getting RSO or killed.
I also strongly suspect that a lot of people who have other paraphilias, including "ordinary" homosexuality, never act it out, and would rather not have such problems because they want to raise a family, and you can't do that with a paraphilia - or at least it is extremely difficult and will probably cause serious problems for the children (reminder I'm talking about cases where the paraphilia is not for children.) I've heard quite a few stories about paraphilias developing from being exposed to porn too early in life, for example, so that should be looked after as well - charges similar to Canada's doing stuff you shouldn't be doing with children (e.g. "invitation to sexual touching") regarding porn and children should be developed not only because it can cause these sorts of issues for developing children, but because it is routinely used by pedophiles who actually abuse children to groom them, making them easier targets and keeping their activities secret. If it became catastrophically illegal to show porn to a child, I think that would be a very good thing, an even better thing than child porn being illegal.
