I've noticed the most vocal anti-President Trump people irl have quieted down so much. They've gone from screeching about him to "I don't really talk/follow politics anymore".
It's to save their massive egos because people have a hard time admitting they were wrong, especially if they got into fights or debates about it.
VERY true, I think a lot of it is bot nets, probably from China. Not the least of which is incredibly suspicious scores of upvotes between similar anti Trump propaganda. Its like WW2 all over again, with dropping propaganda into a foreign country to destabilize them. Except now you can do it digitally and waste a lot less resources. This part of why I want a gun, and of course the riots, too.
