They disabled the comments right after Zero Hedge and the Federalist got demonetized and ads removed by Google. Google claims the comments section aren't moderated strongly enough so in order to get ad revenue back those sites had to disable their comments. I guess TMZ followed suit...plus it was a good excuse for them to remove comments and not allow open speech and dissenting comments. Breitbart and Conservative Treehouse are the few conservative sites remaining that allow article comments.
