First, anyone who thinks masks work are the ignorant fucking sheep, period. CDC, OSHA, multiple mask studies over the years, etc. Masks are not some new cutting edge technology with undiscovered properties prior to covid. It's a fucking known quantity, probably the only "settled science" that actually is settled at this point among all the other claims for "settled science".
Second, they weren't at a restaurant, they were in a public space social distancing from everyone, the stupid couple invaded that space because they didnt like cam dudes MAGA hat (as evidenced by telling cops "they're Trump supporters" LOL) and used the mask as an excuse to escalate shit. However, and most importantly, EVERY SINGLE FUCKING MASK ORDER ANYWHERE ALLOWS YOU TO REMOVE THE FUCKING MASK TO FUCKING EAT!
