This is the continuation of the same sentence. Notice how they word it as if the situation just suddenly escalated on its own somehow. "The ignorant guys said they don't believe in wearing masks and things got crazy". It doesn't say "After they said they don't believe in wearing masks, the woman became enraged and threw her coffee at them. The 'fast boil' occurred before she threw her coffee
The woman then hurls a cup of hot coffee at one of the unmasked guys, and so begins the brawl.
Continued right where the last sentence left off. Now that they've established that things already escalated they can mention that the lady threw her coffee. Then they say "and so begins the brawl". Again, the framing of the brawl starting makes it sound as if it was a spontaneous event. It doesn't say the woman started the brawl. It just says the brawl started.
So just to be clear, the situation escalated on its own BEFORE she threw her coffee but the brawl started on its own AFTER she threw it. Amazing. It's like Shroedinger's Coffee Throw. It simultaneously occurred before and after the situation escalated and either way she's innocent of any accountability
