maybe not have your primary source of income being making content for someone else's platform and get a real job?

So these people that are probably making more than you need to get a “real job”? Because you realize that some of them do? What are your thoughts on you tubers like Steven crowder? Because he’s doing the same thing?

Crowder doesn't have a $2 billion "creator fund" funneled through the app from the CCP. That's what I would imagine they're outraged about losing.

Actually, a lot of people have sponsorships and other things on the app, and having that is contingent on them having that platform. Taking that away is hurting a lot of Americans. I’m willing to listen to anything about TikTok being bad but until Trump has actual evidence I think he’s just jumping the gun here. And it’s going to cause a lot of income loss and that is NOT something I signed up for when I got on the Trump Train. The servers for TikTok are in California, which I think is still a dangerous place for them to be, but its a hell of a lot safer than China. I support banning them from government phones. Keep them off of that. But civilians that are just here? Maybe get some evidence that China is actually spying on us before pulling that trigger

I tentatively agree. I see the validity in needing more concrete evidence, but a cursory glance into Tiktok shows a pretty clear CCP influence. Servers being in SoCal is an irrelevant fact. These silicon valley companies are MOSTLY foreigners. California is a citystate of china at this point, I wouldn't put any weight in server security.

And we also aren't the first nation to ban them. India banned this AND 50 others if I remember right. India and china are distinct enemies...would they have banned tiktok if they didn't think it would hurt china directly?

I’m down with hurting China. I’m against hurting Americans. And if we are going to hurt Americans I’d rather have an actual concrete reason than just a maybe. America First is something I live by. So we should worry about helping Americans first instead of hurting China

The income loss from tiktok will be hardly quantifiable imho. Its advertising funnymoney, I'm not really going to cry about the folks behind the curtain losing money because they can't use a CHILDREN'S app to push their agendas.

Children’s app

Hmmmmmm sure https://ibb.co/WFwDPNK

Also, these are Americans losing the way they eat. Maybe we don’t minimize that?

After my first day in the app I haven’t seen anyone under the age of 18.

he's doing a show for Blaze and just rebroadcasts it on YouTube. His job is a show with sponsors for a news network. He's not creating retarded dance videos, or meaningless content for idiot kids to emulate and try to monitize that. big difference between your average TikToker and what Crowder or Beanine Man do

Have you ever actually spent time on the app? https://vm.tiktok.com/J2b4449/ https://vm.tiktok.com/J2bmQSc/ https://vm.tiktok.com/J2bgvxT/ https://vm.tiktok.com/J2bCf2g/ Here’s just a few, but this is the type of stuff I see when I open up the app. But yeah, it’s all silly dances aimed at children.

How much money you make doesn't qualify your occupation.

Nor does how much money you make qualify your ability to have an opinion.

The fact that they are Americans means they can have opinions.
