Gotta say, I live in Cleveland and I'm apprehensive about wearing my Trump 2020 hat. You guys live in SoCal which probably has higher levels of TDS than here. I don't want to be "that guy" who wears a hat to start trouble, but I also want fellow Cleveland pedes to know they're not alone. Nonetheless, I respect you guys standing your ground and standing up for your beliefs!
I wore a MAGA hat to a specific college campus a couple years ago near you where some people may or may not have been famously shot during some rioting over a war in an Asian country. This campus happens to be famously super liberal. Nothing but high fives from people. Had a dude at a stop sign yell out his window asking for a high five across the street. It could be different now, but never be afraid. I wear the flag Trump hat pretty often out in public, never had negative feedback from that either. Actually when I wore the MAGA hat around often, it got a lot of positive attention. Only one land whale at a gas station that got mad and bagged my drinks roughly as if that was going to ruin my day.
I could imagine that to be much more likely out there as it's a bit more in the country. The end of my street is the border to Cleveland, so I'm deep in Blue country. That being said - I know there's a good few that want to see someone in a Trump hat and are too afraid to show it in public, and I would certainly like to be one that can put it on for them.
There's also the other issue which I think is especially prevalent here in our city specifically, is that people just are tired of politics and would be annoyed whether I was wearing a Biden or a Trump hat, and I can certainly sympathize with those people too.
I think as we get closer to the election though I'll start wearing it. I know I want to put a Trump sign on my front lawn, but I don't want to be the first person on my street putting up a sign. That being said, the moment I see the first Biden sign, my lawn is getting a Trump sign.
You all made it worth it!
