Realisticly for the Republic to survive you'll need to go right back to the original constitution with only a couple of the later amendments. That means the right to vote will be heavily restricted anyway, so it's best to just go all in.
Yes, only give voting rights to net-taxpayers. Sadly, that's even less feasible than taking womens' rights away. Disenfranchising only 51% vs over 80% of the population.
If you destroy welfare and roll back all these bullshit taxes it would be a lot more feasible. Make the government survive off tariffs and most of this will fix itself.
