That's a very good way to put it. They're not hating on the bros for being super spreaders. They're not hating on the bros for disobeying a directive. They're hating on the bros because they DARE have the audacity to think differently and question the mainstream.
And they will get insta-triggered if you reject the idea that everything you do has a profound effect on everyone else, down to every breath your take. In their minds, you have no right to take risks because they always involve other people.
I read all the comments I could find and was pleasantly surprised that very few were saying anything negative. One did specify "I hope they weren't Trump supporters who don't believe in masks." That's far more gracious than I've ever seen out of the Reddit echo chamber.
Also a lot of comments have been removed, of course.

I don't think so. Reddit is awful, but twitter is straight up cancer
