So, a gelding is not a bad thing at all, but it has to be noted on the horse's registration or other ID under the label marked "sex" - you have to put either stallion, gelding or mare, so that's why I noted "three."
(and just to keep this relevant, any human who has undergone "transgender" surgery is the same thing as a gelding.)

You're armored horseman unless they were spearmen or mounted archers would wear partial mail up to full plate. On top of that, the horse would be partially or fully armored too. Figure 900-2000lbs for the horse coming at you, plus the armor(300lbs) and the rider(~180lbs on average), plus their armor(50-130lbs). Pretty terrifying way to die imo.
Even if you didn't die right away you probably would, that much weight would go clean through ribs, guts, break any bone it hit, and what bones it didn't break it would cause severe internal injuries.

Has a lot to do with the lack of people working or being near horses these days. Having seen a horse grab a person by the neck and shake them like a rag doll, would probably chance their perspective though.

I never imagined such a thing. I've seen them bite at each other which always seemed like playing, but I've never even seen a horse open their mouth wide enough to get their jaws around a man's neck.

Horses are excellent in trampling on their own, but think back to the days of medium or heavy cavalry. You're armored horseman unless they were spearmen or mounted archers would wear partial mail up to full plate. On top of that, the horse would be partially or fully armored too. Figure 900-2000lbs for the horse coming at you, plus the armor(300lbs) and the rider(~180lbs on average), plus their armor(50-130lbs). Pretty terrifying way to die imo.
Even if you didn't die right away you probably would, that much weight would go clean through ribs, guts, break any bone it hit, and what bones it didn't break it would cause severe internal injuries.
