I personally believe a better punishment is keeping them alive and miserable, death is an escape, the only people that experience anything when someone dies is everyone except for the dead person.
I disagree, I fully support the death penalty. It is good to give everyone else a feeling of justice being served. Also, I prefer them not being kept alive and miserable.
As long as we both agree that it's more of a gift to the people involved (feeling of justice being served) and not a punishment to the dead person, then sure.
Oh yeah, the criminal scum's punishment has no effect on anything. Empirical data shows that there's no difference between capital punishment and life-sentences as deterrents. Therefore I support the death penalty for the feeling of justice it gives those whom were wronged. I actually wrote about this for an assignment in college. I pissed off my liberal professor, and I was greatly amused.
