Social media and the Internet are how America talks to itself. This open communication is a matter of national security, the country cannot function without it. This is particularly true in this national election season.

For some four years now, the big tech companies that own the dominant social media platforms have been increasingly stifling free speech by censoring the conservative message, even its most responsible voices.

Critical sectors of the economy have always been regulated, often as utilities, in the national interest, from telephone service to radio to railroads.

And if one company would grow to dominate its sector in an unhealthy way, it would become subject to antitrust action.

It is time to regulate or break up Big Tech, in the public interest.
