It's a lifetime/generation of people being told they are "special" and "can do anything". Then they grow up to realize nobody gives a fuck about you. I think a single parent or same sex couple could properly raise a kid, but they both need to be grounded in reality. You are not special, you must choose carefully who you rely on, and you must never abuse them. As for others, don't step on anybody's rights, and there's consequences for your actions.
