Ok, one is indoors and one is outdoors. But the gym has a mask AND a social distancing requirement. Murphy has shown through his own actions that social distancing is not necessary. So if it's the indoors that's the problem, sub in the extra precaution of the social distancing for the indoor/outdoor distinction.
