It's a protection racket. The left essentially threaten every business with a social DDOS attack. Pay them / pay tribute to them and they give that company a "social justice pass" to proceed with business as usual. The left have a hierarchy of social influencers, community organizers, Democrat operatives, slush fund and soros style front companies. It's essentially what newspapers used to be known for doing (the media has always been a cudgel for the left) but on a much larger scale.
