Obama was never really popular or liked as a President. Just like people are dodging and lying to pollsters today, people were not going to say they thought the first black President was a huge disappointment by almost every measure.
They lied when they said they approved of Obama - the biggest case of the bigotry of low expectations plus fear of being branded a witch—I mean, racist.

I'd say at least half of them were deluded enough to think he was scandal free. The media never challenged or questioned him.
If you bring up deportations and stuff, most liberals disapprove on that point.
They also didn't like approving CCW in national parks. I used to hear that a lot. Fair point. Trump took bump stocks without even fair compensation, Obama technically expanded gun rights to national parks.
