If you have to bring in mail-in ballots anyway, why don't we just fucking voting normally? Leave it to Democrats to confuse the fuck out of a simple process.
It sounds like (correct me if I'm wrong bigfive) this only applies to people who actually request a mail in ballot. And I guess any state that's just mass mailing them out. But honestly if you didnt request one, or you did and it got lost in the mail, and they won't let you vote, that sounds like a massive lawsuit waiting to happen.
Agreed, I'm not running the risk of my vote disappearing in the mail.
I've had to pay a late fee on a license renewal before, because the post office took 3 weeks to mail my paperwork and payment to Columbus, from Northeast, Ohio.
When you complain they can't offer up any explanation.
every vote should be a little ball you drop in and you get a square version with matching colors so then you can go in the vote live stream and confirm your vote is present and in the correct category, all visual, all physical, all anonymous, and verifiable... though processing a dispute would be a nightmare... unless there was a way to invalidate your square and get a new one to retry or something
I would argue digital private keys but I am a software engineer so I don't trust computers, NEVER TRUST COMPUTERS!
In case anyone asks you, here are just some of the differences between an "absentee ballot" and a "mail-in ballot."
Most people think they're the same thing. They are not!
Procedure varies somewhat by state, but in general:
With an absentee ballot, you have to contact the Board of Elections and give a specific reason as to why you want one. You fill it out and mail it back in. Your signature of record is compared to the one on the ballot for verification.
With a mail-in ballot, you just ask for one (no reason needed.) In some states - and here's the real problem - ballots are automatically sent out in mass mailings to anybody still on the voter rolls, even if they died, moved out of state, or are really a cat.
Say you move from NY to FL. If a ballot is mailed to your old NY address, there's nothing to stop the new resident there from filling it out, signing your name, and mailing it back in.
Is anyone really checking for duplicate ballots from different states, or for fake ballots of any kind? When there's no Voter ID, all that ballot needs is a signature that seems to match the name and it is considered valid.
VoterID is racist, remember, so a lot of states don't have it.
This is why you should ALWAYS vote in person if you possibly can. At least you know for a fact that your ballot was left at an official polling location - the place where it is supposed to be counted.
If you mail it in, your ballot will have to be driven around by mail carriers and poll workers to get to the counting location. With no chain of custody, it's very easy for certain ballots to disappear. It's also how other certain ballots are magically found in the trunks of cars and in the back closets of poll workers' homes whenever there's a close race.
Please feel free to share this info anywhere you like. Many good people are not aware of these differences and honestly don't see what the problem is. Let them know!

Can i get a sauce for this? Sounds like exactly what they would do but i want to get the full deets.

as long as you're in a state that won't mandate VBM as the ONLY method
Is this implemented in every state? I really want to audit my ballot, but haven't started looking into what I can do.
My fear is my state shutting down polling sites. Don’t the Dems run polling sites anyway? That’s my biggest fear.
Expect polling place shanagins too long lines ect
I think I will early vote just in case I die and end up voting for Biden.
Can't Washington state has already gone mail in only for years

we need a physical/visual system
Obligatory response to any mention of voting software https://xkcd.com/2030/
I showed this to someone hawking blockchain voting software at CPAC, they gave a hearty laugh followed by a concerned expression.
I'll add, and if you were sent a mail in ballot bring it with you to prove you did not mail it in.
On my hands and knees over broken glass. You bet.
This needs to be permanent stickied!
Work at polling stations if you can. Many will be understaffed due to the "pandemic."

And make sure you take your mail in and make them destroy it in front of you.
