I worked with an inspector briefly and he told our group that they allow all sorts of stuff into the food, but mostly in the byproduct foods that are made from grinding. They don't inspect anything after it goes in there.
Yep. He was saying that it needs to be a certain threshhold for each product and they would need to know beforehand, so you could mix a small amount of a lot of different things and it would be fine and unidentifiable on labels.
