Yet these same fuckers think nothing of cycling right up on a horse -- and being on the horse trails in the first place...that we built expressly after the cyclists' demand that horses be banned from the trails because cyclists could get hurt... I used to love riding my bike...until I met bike riders.

I like to ride my bike, but I do so sensibly and I avoid vehicles. I also ride motorcycles and am very aware of my surroundings in traffic. It is my responsibility to be careful about my activities and keep myself from getting hurt. This includes anticipating what others are going to do and always having a plan. However, a lot of these bicyclists seem to believe that muh 3ft spacing is everyone else's responsibility but their own. Like their immune from doing anything wrong.

Yes, and that's why I hate their guts. Plus they're always whinging about more money being spent to make more and better bike trails for them, and exclusively for them -- I've seen them berate people for walking on the paths...well, those are taxpayers, they paid for them, and the traffic isn't so heavy that they pose a problem. Gah, they're entitled fuckers. (and yes, they ruin it for people who might not be that way)

The city/state can pass all the laws it likes regarding cyclists' safety; in practice the laws of physics apply first. Nothing wrong with you not wanting to be the squishiest part of the bike+car equation. Wish more cyclists figured that out.

I think riding a bike is dangerous as hell, especially with cars around. I'd never chance that. But more power to you, you obviously have more balls than me in this situation.
