Many people ride sensibly, I just seem to attract the goofs. More than likely due to my ability to have a sense of awareness about the space I occupy. For example, even in my full size truck, I can turn left without swinging into the far right lane. Heck, back in the old days, huge 3 ton land yachts were able to turn at an intersection simultaneously if they were coming from opposite directions. One guy would turn left into the left lane, one guy would turn right into the right lane. Nowadays the smallest shitbox cars, the guy making the left ends up in the right lane and the guy turning right ends up in the left lane.

People are too preoccupied with their phones today, it was so much easier to drive before the iPhone was released.

About the city and biking. I live rurally, just a few miles outside if a small town. I definitely need to drive to go anywhere, but I've found that once in town, I have no need to leave essentially a 3 mile radius. I could actually have no vehicle and walk everywhere. It's also worth mentioning that there are A LOT of seniors around town and towns similar in the area. It's basically like living in a retirement community, but still plenty of amenities for middle age goofs like me. Add in online ordering and I have no idea why the city attracts older people, unless they're socialites into the museums, plays, etc.
