It doesn’t matter whether they’re “effective” or not, that’s not the point. Driving at walking speed would unquestionably be “effective” in saving lives on the roads but we don’t do it, why not? Plus wearing full PPE 24/7 would be “effective” at stopping all kinds of infection, does that give govt the right to force you to wear it? No!
As with most things, it’s not about what’s the right choice but about who gets to make that choice. Who’s in charge of your body, you or the government?
