I've been reading articles about the $10 Trillion China Ark project the CCP leadership and elite have set up for themselves for the eventual collapse of the CCP.
Supposedly they've laundered around $10 Trillion outside of China and are clandestinely negotiating with two, possibly three, nations for safe harbor for the eventual and inevitable collapse.
I keep reading Vancouver is the destination to which most of them are trying to make plans to escape. But I don't think those plans were drawn up with a openly hostile and no longer in their pocket USA just down south.
This has given as one of the driving reasons for all of the vacant investment property owned by Chinese in the Vancouver area. Although I am sure much of it is actual speculation, considering how cash flush the Chinese market was and in need of long term "safe" investment with a diminishing list of choices.
If the CCP elite do end up in Vancouver, that'd be an absolutely horrible sign for our Canadian friends, as that would mean their leadership has completely capitulated to Chinese money even in the face of ruining their relationship with the United States. Even if they remained in hiding and it never came out publicly if the US found out it'd do immense long term damage to our relationship with them, IMO.
I have no idea if Canada no longer being the prime CCP hideout destination is a reason why, but supposedly CCP leadership are in negotiations with a South American nation, some say Brazil, others say they aren't headed to Brazil. Played hockey my entire life. Thrilled to death the Caps won the cup 2 years ago. If they won it now or next year, it would be tainted with this bullshit. NBC lost me after this.
I was following the Hawks/Oilers game thread and someone said something along the lines of: hockey needs to get more diverse or it won't grow. Yeah, that's why the NBA has all of those Chinese players, so they could grow the game.

I was never a big sports guy, but i'd watch when hanging with friends. I'm done with them though. The only thing i'll watch now is UFC or other MMA fights. The MMA fighters are mostly based by the look of it.
