Phil Murphy just changed legislation so masks in all schools in NJ are required now. Yup.
What is the best way to get out of this bullshit? Do I tell everyone I have asthma until November 4th (would they force me to verify with a doctor)? Because there's no way in hell I'm going along with this totalitarian bullshit.

You are a minor. You can't do much other than get your parents to homeschool. If they won't do that then protest in small ways- wear a mask labelled placebo in big letters. Wear a different one with muzzle on it. Wear a pro-trump, or at least pro manly one. Meanwhile start seeing how to influence student council, newspaper, etc. You can't change the policy, but you can encourage others to not be sheep.
The best and easiest one I've seen is a hairnet. I got myself a paintball mask w/ wire mesh.

CDC website says mask is not appropriate for those with asthma or “issues breathing”. If you can’t sell the asthma, maybe “pass out” with your mask on once or twice. Preferably in gym class.

And record them when they tell you to remove it. Tell them no, and refuse to remove it because you're scared of the Wuhan virus. When they tell you to leave school, tell them no, and record it. When they send in police to remove you, record it.
Try to be subtle so they don't know you're recording. And, bonus points if you take the trespassing arrest and sue. Ask the officer if you can call your parents before they take you, and have them call your local news to explain and see if they want to have cameras at the police station waiting.
Worst case scenario, you get expelled, and you're better off.

Exactly. Thus this isn't r/teen. Advising someone's minor child to put their family through hell so that they can satisfy their own personal agendas is one of the more irresponsible things I've seen.

Oh God, you're right. They might have been held back a grade or two and are entering their senior year as a 19 year old.
Most seniors are 18 when they graduate. And in many states 17 is considered an adult. Not sure why you don’t know this already.
It's the fall - he's not graduating and may not even be a senior. There's a 1/4 chance he's 14. In New Jersey - the state in which he lives - children under 18 are considered minors. Not sure why you don't know this. More to the point, he still lives at home with mom and dad (and is kind of a twat, although mostly unrelated) whose lives will actually be impacted by this shitty advice while all the people giving the advice can sit back and relax with no consequences.
