so they charge a person but offer alternative options if your a jury member. So if you don't think hes guilty of Murder 1 but think he is Guilty of manslaughter, you can still find him guilty of manslaughter. Murder 1 is planned killing while manslaughter is accidental. If I remember right.

That’s where I was lost. I wasn’t aware that they could list any number of possible charges for a singular crime. Seems like a ‘fishing expedition’ to me.

I think it makes sense when we have laws that rely on particular circumstances and intentions beyond what events transpired.
