As an aside, are the cops guilty of anything besides bad optics? They would have known that they were dealing with someone who is high -- they do it all the time. But should they have known that he had taken a dangerous overdose, and rushed to get him medical attention? Would more training have helped? Defunding, obviously, would not.

That was the plan from day 1. The cops were grossly overcharged so they would e found not guilty and cause more riots

The prosection might have a shot at proving manslaughter, longshot at 3rd degree murder, definitely not the 2nd degree murder charge. If they dropped the murder charge they might have a shot at a case due to political pressure. There's basically no chance that they do that, so there is very little chance the case will stick. That's justice. However, the cops involved will never be safe again, probably will have a hard time finding work, and the 28 people who have lost their lives, hundreds who were injured, and thousands who were financially destroyed will never see justice.
They needed the 2nd degree murder charge so they could charge the other 3 as accomplices. The other 3 cops will walk for sure, and considering the prosecution will go all in on the 2nd degree murder charge it's likely Chauvin will walk to.
