As an aside, are the cops guilty of anything besides bad optics? They would have known that they were dealing with someone who is high -- they do it all the time. But should they have known that he had taken a dangerous overdose, and rushed to get him medical attention? Would more training have helped? Defunding, obviously, would not.

This is the plan all along. They intentionally over-charge the cops because they want them to be acquitted, just like in the Atlanta case with the guy who tazed the cops. It’s intentional, because when the cop gets acquitted it just “proves” to all the rioters that the system is racist and they go out to riot again. This has always been the plan.
