Racism isn't just "out there," it's literally taught to black kids in school. Every history lesson is framed around whites being oppressors of xyz minority group in the south. Black kids are not held to the same standard of behavior that white kids are, because white teachers don't want to be called racist. You have to undo everything kids are taught in social studies every day at the dinner table. We sit, talk about the lesson that day, and google it to get even a semi-clear idea of what happened. Magically in 2015, right about the time where the kneelers and America-haters started their crap and people stopped buying tickets, the TV blackout rules were lifted. Teams were now "buying" tickets so they could report false attendance numbers. There have been examples of sell-out games being reported where there is photographic evidence that the stadium was actually half-empty.
The Super Bowl is a different story. Ratings usually do well, but that's because it's not for the actual game. You have a bunch of people who know nothing about football watching it for crap like the commercials and the halftime show. Some just because they think it's some big event they're supposed to watch. Like people who watch the Academy Awards who haven't seen a new movie in years. You know...brainwashed dolts. Attendance is pretty much the same; A lot of people who are seeing a football game for the first time in their life.
If you want to argue they're not being hurt financially, you're probably right. They have other sources of revenue. Despite falling ratings, they're still going to get TV and advertising money. They just raise the rates. Same with merchandising. Last time I bought a baseball hat, it was $9. I recently wanted to buy a new one and the cheapest (good quality one) I could find was running close to $40.
They also change revenue sharing schemes to help prop-up teams that are affected more by the decreasing ratings/attendance. So the N.Y. Giants and Jets who have years long waiting lists for season tickets are helping support the Jacksonville Jaguars who can't draw flies.
These decisions are absolutely costing them money and fans in the short term. Long term, they are chasing global markets. They want money and viewers from China and Europe.
These are no longer American sports leagues. They are globalist institutions that oppose nationalism, patriotism, and America.

Last night was like watching an entirely different broadcast compared to Saturday with NBC. Having the local announcers and crew made a world of difference. They even showed one of the Penguins players singing along with the anthem and almost felt like they deliberately were not showing all that NBC propaganda that's in the arena.

If you want to argue they're not being hurt financially, you're probably right. They have other sources of revenue. Despite falling ratings, they're still going to get TV and advertising money. They just raise the rates. Same with merchandising. Last time I bought a baseball hat, it was $9. I recently wanted to buy a new one and the cheapest (good quality one) I could find was running close to $40.
They also change revenue sharing schemes to help prop-up teams that are affected more by the decreasing ratings/attendance. So the N.Y. Giants and Jets who have years long waiting lists for season tickets are helping support the Jacksonville Jaguars who can't draw flies.

I played sports my whole life, and have been a big fan of the teams of my hometown all my life. I haven't watched more than a few minutes to see what my home team was doing in regards to BLM. Haven't tuned in since.

Last night was like watching an entirely different broadcast compared to Saturday with NBC. Having the local announcers and crew made a world of difference. They even showed one of the Penguins players singing along with the anthem and almost felt like they deliberately were not showing all that NBC propaganda that's in the arena.
I know the circlejerk around here is to just hate on sports period, and I respect that opinion, but I have a theory that a lot of it is just these major media corporations having to keep up their propaganda machine and they're the ones forcing it into sports along with the players who've decided to cash in their victim cards. These are my two teams and now it really sucks. I wouldn’t be able to count how much money I’ve spent on these franchises, how many games I’ve been to over the years, playoffs, how many beers bought at the stadiums, merch, cable bills, etc.
My wife and I have sat court side at several bucks games, attended plenty of baseball games, and every year we would get great seats in green Bay for a game. We will skip all of that now and save a shit ton of money. Admittedly, it's been years since attending any NBA game but I would have loved to see one in the new stadium.

I stopped watching the NHL in March when they paused basically because my team didn't even make playoffs this year. Thing is, I still think their "playoff format" is retarded and they should have just written off the 2020 season by now instead of trying to force there to be a cup winner. Have you read the "demands" of the players in the PAC-12? It won't be long until all conferences have the same demands put on them. Once the first conference bends the knee, all will follow. If you promise a kid 50k/yr and 6 years full room and board to play a sport in college, then all the other conferences have to do the same thing to stay competitive, unless they go broke, which hopefully they will.
