They refer to the same tactics used against Assad in Syria when they falsely portrait him as crushing dissent against poor rebels (that supposedly only want democracy). They falsely accused him of using chemical weapons against his own people to topple him, and this is exactly where they were going my friends when they falsely accused Trump a few weeks ago of using irritant gas canisters at Lafayette square. Some news even went as far to say that Trump “gassed” protestors. Follow these words of dictator and gas closely. Same tactic than Syria.
I get that. I had some heated arguments about the “gassed” statements with liberal friends. A bit of pepper balls to keep the people who tried to light fires in the same place the previous night didn’t seem to matter to them. I asked them if it would have been better to let St John’s burn to the ground. Being pseudo Christian (although it’s not mine to judge, between them and God) and one proclaimed atheist, the arguments went away.
