During a video conference with black community leaders last week, James was asked whether he disagreed with Trump on anything given the president’s support of his candidacy.
“Plenty, plenty of issues,” James responded. “Everything from cutting Great Lakes funding to ‘shithole countries’ to speaking ill of the dead," apparently referring to Trump's disparagement of the late Sen. John McCain. "I mean, where do you want to start?”
"And so yes, there's gonna be places that I disagree with the president and those are just a couple," he added.
Don't get me wrong, I love John James and have donated more to his campaign than I ever have to a congressional candidate and will vote for him this Fall but I just know Trump has an ego and doesn't like people criticizing him and holds grudges.
You misspelled Metro Detroit. Vote blue, no matter who.
You cannot talk to them about taking the red pill, because they all drive murdered out new leased pick up trucks with their employee discounts (about half off) with their glove boxes full of Glocks and Fudd .45 ACPs... to be able to feel safe driving around to and from work... piss them off and you WILL get shot/threatened with use of one/baseball bat/tire iron.
Main reason I went to vote was city council. The primary is the defacto election because Ann Arbor is one of three cities in Michigan with partisan local elections and obviously the democrat wins in November. The giant douche is really shitty this year so I had to get out and vote for the turd sandwich so the mega douche mayor doesn't get his city council majority back.
Michigan Pede checking in here! If you’re in Saginaw county, not much going on in the R side. Vote on the dem ticket to vote in sheriff Federspiel. He only ran D to win in our heavy D leaning area. He’s a great law and order sheriff, believes in the sanctity of all life, and has been sticking it to Whitless with her stupid mask orders.
Also consider voting for David Miller as county registrar of deeds. He’s a solid conservative, just getting his feet wet in politics, same story as Federspiel. Gonna be an interesting day!
All the Republicans are running fairly uncontested (Jon James), if in Wayne county consider voting Democrat to vote against Rashida Talib. Otherwise vote Red all the way.
Folks, the time to look for good Republicans is the day after elections up until the last day of applications to be on the ballot.
If you're stuck choosing between a commie pedo and a spineless rino, choose the rino. But hold your nose while you vote and write letters to your local rino every day.
The first three efforts were rejected, the 4th was recently withdrawn(that one made it the farthest and was supposed to start collecting sigs last week. Chad Baase posted something on his Facebook page about blaming his campaign manager) 5th and 6th efforts were rejected and efforts 7 through 12 are all underway.
Was supposed to begin 7/1. She appealed it at the last moment and it was pushed back to 7/29. Then the person that started the process rescinded it. I don’t think we know why. It’s DOA.
Anyone have suggestions for 3rd district pick? I've posted this on a few places but can't seem to find a unanimous choice. Meijer has the most support but seems like a rich squishy rhino Amash type.
Afendoulis seems to be a solid ProTrump Candidate. Although I don't like telling people how to vote locally, so I highly recommend combing through their websites and see what their key values are. Ballotpedia offers a good unbiased look into the candidates if you click on their names and scroll down.
Its stupid, but I also like looking at the clarity and quality of their websites, it shows they are more serious about communicating with their voters and that they have attention to detail. (However, on the flip sides, don't judge a book by its cover just because its shiney) Look into their history and promises if they have them, and see how they delivered.
I am in the same boat. I don't trust Meijer either, but it seems like her has the most support locally. Afendoulis is NOT selling me on being pro-Trump. She claims to support him but only tepidly. Norton seems based AF, but he seems like a lonnngshot.
I think I'm going Norton. He is strong on 1A/2A and pro-Trump. He's a little rough around the edges, but that's not necessarily a problem. What put me over the top is he will be an advocate for vaccine choice.
Meijer would be okay I think as long as he isn't lying about everything on his website. Afendoulis will be useless. I wanted to like her, but she hasn't really taken a stance on anything and will be squishy on MAGA agenda.
James needs to get out there FIGHT. You have a CRAZY RAT POISONED GOVERNOR WHOS DESTROYING THE ECONOMY. Rats are Against the Police. This should be an Easy Win
I don't think this was mentioned yet, but remember the primary requires a straight party vote or you'll nullify your results. Michigan voters must vote all Democrat or all Republican.
Didn't have to wear a mask and voter turnout seemed low. I'm a little miffed we voted on continuing the school millage and our district isn't announcing its fall plans until tomorrow. It just makes them look bad.
Yeah, I wish we had a thread like this before the day of the election. Katica put out a 2020 MAGA candidates list. BallotPedia shows how much money each has collected and spent (and saved). Esshaki has the most cash on hand by far according to that site. But I really don't know enough about any of them.
Appreciate the info, but that's the 10th District race.
11th District is Eric Esshaki, Carmelita Greco, Whittney Williams, Kerry Bentivolio, and Frank Acosta. We need to pick someone who can punt that airheaded $oro$-funded commissar Haley Stevens out of her seat.
Vote Adam Stockford for Michigan's 58th House District (Hillsdale and Branch counties). His main competition has ties to the corrupt Consumers Energy. Sad!
So michigan under I think Granholm got tired of being basically the last presidential primary. So they moved just the presidential race (and sometimes ballot initiatives) to early in the primary season. This threw off dem campaigning strategy so they said the mi race didn't even count for delegates for the next few years (I'm loosely paraphrasing half a memory of it)... but that's why we have 2 primaries to this day.
This seemed to be focused on representatives (John James, Rashida...etc) and voting yes or no on local mileage renewals depending on your district, did not see any Presidential Candidates on the ballot.
I just got back from voting in my area, funnily enough I did not get any REEEEEEEEE'ing from any of the people in the voting place for not wearing a mask, but stopped at a little corner store and got REEEEEEE's from the cashier.
John James!
Senate race isn't today right? James vs Peters is in November if I'm not mistaken
It's a primary, both are running uncontested.
Trump really should endorse James.
He did in 2018.
This is true.
He needs to do it again. But John recently criticized trump and I'm not sure if Trump's ego will let him endorse James again.
Oof, do you have a source for that?
“Plenty, plenty of issues,” James responded. “Everything from cutting Great Lakes funding to ‘shithole countries’ to speaking ill of the dead," apparently referring to Trump's disparagement of the late Sen. John McCain. "I mean, where do you want to start?”
"And so yes, there's gonna be places that I disagree with the president and those are just a couple," he added.

Dems won't vote for a black man. What racists
we're trying not to let the rest of the usa down, but we've got a ton of retards

Just voted Democrat!
Against Rashida Talib. :D
Jon James is running uncontested, and I'm looking forward to voting for him and Trump in the fall.
I voted for Dingell over the green new deal DSA clown running against her.
Voting in Ann Arbor is a real giant douche or turd sandwich decision.
Biggest election is tslib against Jones. Both Democrats. Jones needs to win. She is not a crazy Dem like Talib.
Voted for Brenda Jones today.
I voted today, and I'm praying my district stays red in the general.

Already done this for just this reason. MI pedes rise up
Midland here, the voting people there made it a straight Republican OR Democrat ballot, couldn't mix.
Not in MI, but I'm sure our brothers and sisters there would appreciate some suggestions.
All the Republicans are running fairly uncontested (Jon James), if in Wayne county consider voting Democrat to vote against Rashida Talib. Otherwise vote Red all the way.

Yeah, I heard shes pretty close to getting beat by her opponent. As long as the other is less radical..
You don't have to register party affiliation in Michigan.
However you cannot split your vote.
If you vote against Rashida to primary her, you must vote Democrat the rest of the way.
You are eligible to vote Republican in November if you vote Democrat today.
Really good to know!
Warning if you split your vote you nullify your ballot.
Definitely going to the polls.
This is a perfect practice run for voting in person this November if nothing else. Go, make sure you're able to vote.
I went around 8am in district 14 and there was only 1 other voter there. Curious to see how long before we get results with all the mail-ins.
I'm going this afternoon. I too hope wonder about all these mail in ballots.
Not mail in, absentee.
Right.
I went to my polling place. Other than masks nothing really changed from last time. Should be good to go in November.
Anyone know what happened to the recall petition for the governor ?
The first three efforts were rejected, the 4th was recently withdrawn(that one made it the farthest and was supposed to start collecting sigs last week. Baase pulled out.
There are two here that are circulating already. I've signed them both in person. Please spread them!

Vote Meijer. He spoke out against the art prize installation a couple years ago, the one from London featuring handicapped people in drag.
I am in the same boat. I don't trust Meijer either, but it seems like her has the most support locally. Afendoulis is NOT selling me on being pro-Trump. She claims to support him but only tepidly. Norton seems based AF, but he seems like a lonnngshot.
That's how I feel. I just want to pick someone who can beat scholten at this point. Not sure who is the best option.
I think I'm going Norton. He is strong on 1A/2A and pro-Trump. He's a little rough around the edges, but that's not necessarily a problem. What put me over the top is he will be an advocate for vaccine choice.

Who do we like in the 3rd district?? Afendoulis, Meijer or Norton?
I would say Meijer. I said elsewhere, but he spoke out against the handicapped people in drag from London who wanted to perform at art prize.
Fred Upton is a Never Trumper RINO who can get primaried in the 6th district
this shit is huge. I was playing dawn of war 2, an obscure, highly niche Warhammer game and people are calling each other pede's on there too.
James needs to get out there FIGHT. You have a CRAZY RAT POISONED GOVERNOR WHOS DESTROYING THE ECONOMY. Rats are Against the Police. This should be an Easy Win

That sounds like Menominee county. We have that same shit here.
Any pedes have good info on the GOP candidates for the 11th District?
Yeah, I wish we had a thread like this before the day of the election. Katica put out a 2020 MAGA candidates list. BallotPedia shows how much money each has collected and spent (and saved). Yes, I'd vote for Lisa McClain. The other guy, Shane Hernandez, is sponsored by the pro-Amnesty, anti-Wall Club for Growth. The current congressman endorsed Shane, but he's on the record supporting more immigration visas: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/01/28/the-list-123-republicans-foreign-workers/

I just realized that watching the news tonight. Sorry man.
I've heard commercials for carmalita that said she was pro trump but don't know if true or if better than the others.
0.00% of precincts reporting and Tlaib is winning 66.3% of votes.WTF Michigan!
i CANT WAIT to vote for John James. Fresh blood, Patriot, Vet, Businessman, AND he's black. bwahahahahahahaha! dispel that racist narrative baby!
Vote Adam Stockford for Michigan's 58th House District (Hillsdale and Branch counties). His main competition has ties to the corrupt Consumers Energy. Sad!
Wasn’t Michigan’s primary already held in March?
No.
I remember voting for Trump here in Michigan back in March.
So michigan under I think Granholm got tired of being basically the last presidential primary. So they moved just the presidential race (and sometimes ballot initiatives) to early in the primary season.
