After sitting in his own car, he faked a claustrophobia attack to not get in the cop car... Props to the officers for remaining so calm.

That is the real story imo. To get anyone that wants to help keep order in their community to think twice about that decision. My son since he was 9 wanted to be a LEO. With all he has seen in the last year alone he has changed his tune. I keep trying to push him to still do what he wants to do but have been suggesting fish and wildlife instead. Much harder to get into though.

You are correct, except here in MN if you are white they want to see your license and harass you, even when you are fishing with your kid in your own backyard and only catching and releasing everything, but if you are a minority you can go to a lake and take 800 fish in coolers stacked up, have no license, be using stolen equipment, and they never bother you at all.

Some departments do have tuition assistance of he hasn't already gone to college. I think you need a degree for fed jobs or military. if it turns out being a cop isn't what he wants he can always leave or try to transfer into fish and wildlife from a police department. Being police would be good for his resume for fed jobs. There are days I hate it but I don't want to do anything else. My department blows and that's why I'm trying to transfer asap. I'm just like your kid except I wanted to be one well before I was 9 we need more people like him to join not less. If either of you have an questions I'd be happy to answer whatever I can. You are more than welcome to message me.

Pickinpox 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thanks for the input. He is only 15 so has some time to figure it out. I met a Fish and Wildlife officer while at work and had a good discussion with him. His route was military, degree then had to wait a couple years for the pool to open up. His suggestion was forgo the military and go to school for the degree 4 yr and be prepared to wait a couple to a few years to be hired. Also said he has to deal with not so fun individuals and of course most are armed in his field but that most of his interactions were great.

Thanks for the response.

1
LLchurch 1 point ago +1 / -0

No problem. I would have never thought that would be such a hard job to get. Another possible route could be community college for associate then police and while being a cop use their tuition assistance for the next two years. Your department may not have it but worth looking into so he can take on as few loans as possible. Even if he don't end up in law enforcement I hope he finds out what he wants to do. Best of luck.

I hope one day we raise a statue for Officer Chauvin and all the pain he had to go through just so that the Dems could push their agenda.

Actually, the neck restraint could have also been used to control the subject, while keeping them conscious according to the Minneapolis Use of Force document:

Conscious Neck Restraint: The subject is placed in a neck restraint with intent to control, and not to render the subject unconscious, by only applying light to moderate pressure. (04/16/12)

https://archive.is/lR2os#selection-4927.13-4927.17

11
lanre 11 points ago +12 / -1

Authorizing a knee on the neck is pretty stupid imo, but if it's so bad, then go after the people that authorized it. The cop followed procedure and the procedure wasn't something like "gas all Jews" or something ridiculous,

This isn't something like waterboarding, where you go after John Yoo and the people doing it. Go after the guy that set the policy for setting bad policy, and retrain the cops about why it was bad policy (leads to death, reflects poorly on the PD, whatever).

2
lowkeylocarb 2 points ago +3 / -1

In the policy that he was following it references that the subject may die.

1
LLchurch 1 point ago +2 / -1

Worse part is so many departments across the country banned any type of neck restraint after that one guy in NYC their department didn't follow suit and this is what happens unfortunately.

1
goodatlife123 1 point ago +1 / -0

Lol u need to fix ur recollection. John Yoo was the fucking whistleblower.

5
deleted 5 points ago +5 / -0
3
LLchurch 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think he died in the ambulance but yeah ME said the knee didn't do it. I looked at it again and I'm not sure much weight was on the knee if any really only problem is regardless it just looks bad and is easy for media and the internet to spin as excessive force. Also positional asphyxiation is still a think too even with no weight anywhere on a cuffed suspect that is on their chest they can still possibly pass out and die from the positioning

8
funqueybusiness 8 points ago +8 / -0

And you know who decides if neck restraints are authorized? It ain’t the the officers on the beat. It’s the mayor, chief of Police and the city council.

2
synd1050 2 points ago +2 / -0

The neck restraint has never failed before in Minneapolis. The officer never used excessive force on Floyd’s neck.the pressure was light and it didn’t affect the throat. Why are we cucking here? The only problem I can think with police is them not following the constitution and “qualified immunity “.

She may have been advised to divorce him for her own financial protection. That sometimes happens.

4
Ballind 4 points ago +4 / -0

Some speculation that the divorce is a play to protect assets. They have a lot of stolen money in multiple properties that she's trying to claim in the divorce. Would be a good way to keep those assets from being taken in lawsuits

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
3
LLchurch 3 points ago +3 / -0

It isn't uncommon for spouses to divorce their significant other when high profile cases like this happen. You know BLM would target his family she could have done it to distance herself for her own protection. I'm not saying that is definitely what happened maybe this was the final straw no way for us to know but I suspect she did it for her own safety. If she did I can't blame her and he would have known.

14
sometimescanbefunny 14 points ago +14 / -0

6
FliesTheFlag 6 points ago +7 / -1

Absolutely are good ones, not this bullshit you see on tv. Retired one I know says if he popped you for a dui and you werent a dickhead he'd have his partner drive your car to your house while you road in the back of his cop car and no charges.

3

2
squanchingonpao 2 points ago +2 / -0

That shit stopped happening in the 80s. You get pulled over drunk you are getting locked up unless it’s a small town.

2
johnrambo 2 points ago +2 / -0

Even in a small town, they call the state guys who want dui's.

2
Skipster777 2 points ago +3 / -1

Don't think you'd feel that was a good cop if next week the same guy drove drunk and killed a family.

1
LLchurch 1 point ago +1 / -0

Unfortunately those days are long long gone. If I did that I'd risk some law suits or suspension/firing. Other departments might be able to do it but I absolutely can't. Body cams take away any discretion but also I have a strong hatred for DUIs so I'm not letting anyone go for that but I mean for other arrestable offenses. Our DA let's everyone walk anyway so getting arrested means pretty much nothing anymore

The cops are the real victims here. This tape shows that they didn’t break any policies or laws.

George Floyd broke the law. That doesn’t mean he should have died, but sadly, his poor decisions led to his death.

7
Wrexxis780 7 points ago +7 / -0

Cops should have charges dropped immediately. Then call in all the cops into the city to immediately stop the riot that comes from that.

7
Mrsattorney 7 points ago +7 / -0

I'm wondering if he ingested a lethal dose of illegal drugs when the police approached him. He might have panicked if he was going to get caught with illegal substances (parole violation). This would explain his panicked behavior.

2
funqueybusiness 2 points ago +2 / -0

Drugs are defined as “mood altering” substances.

He didn’t deserve to die, but his poor life choices led to a not entirely unexpected end to his life.

6
funqueybusiness 6 points ago +6 / -0

But see, this gets to the root of your politics.

Liberals will argue that if a man claims that he’s claustrophobic and afraid of the police, you shouldn’t arrest him, even if he commits a crime.

Conservatives would argue that if you don’t want to get arrested you shouldn’t commit a crime.

Minneapolis is currently seeing the effects of the liberal argument, and it’s not pretty.

5
Deadangles 5 points ago +5 / -0

the cops treated him with decency and bartered and offered to open the window for him!!!!!

3
LLchurch 3 points ago +3 / -0

Honestly people who do get claustrophobic or anxious and aren't high as fuck usually calm down when the window is open. When people start freaking out I tell them I can roll the window down for you and they are usually happy with that much. High people that's a different story

7
NotoriousCIC 7 points ago +7 / -0

Common for black men who seem to have trouble with respect for any type of authority at all. Wonder if there’s something occurring in their personal lives that may be impacting that? Oh wait...

6
ODOnRedPill 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yep. So strung out on meth, fentanyl, some reefer he had no fucking clue what was going on. The other passenger in the car being questioned? Totally fine.

This was a 100% false flag used to kick off the BLM movement and push the neo-marxist/post-modernism movement full speed ahead.

So far it's worked pretty damn well. I can only hope the rest of the people in this country, at least a large chunk of them, can see this whole incident for what it was. It's disgusting and has been done many times in the past by other communist regimes.

Because all those corporations want Trump out of office and want the ENTIRE government (not just most of it) to be beholden to their bribes and desires.

14
bobobob 14 points ago +14 / -0

All of these companies are globalist companies who are desperate to get footholds into China. They don't really care what happens to our country at this point. I think they would prefer a Chinese-style government where business and government work for each other and ignore the wishes of the people.

Trump's harsh tariff policies and policies on cheap foreign labor are cutting into their profits. They would prefer an empty vessel like Biden who will let them do whatever they want.

14

12
MAGAbetterargument 12 points ago +12 / -0

Are we forgetting that the protests never made sense EVEN IF George Floyd was wrongfully murdered by these cops?

No one had proven race had anything to do with it.

The actions of a single cop do not invalidate the entire profession. No other profession is given this treatment.

It's just icing on the cake that the triggering event itself was a farce. The entire stack of logic between this farce and the outrage was farcical at every level, including the outrage itself. This new video just completes the series of bullshit.

Well, I could have understood holding on to it for a few days, or a week, while they figured out what kind of case they are or aren't moving forward with. But once they continued holding on to it, even after announcing criminal charges for the officers, it was plainly obvious to me that the reason they weren't releasing it is because it would be damaging to their narrative and case. It was obvious it would show that George Floyd was just another asshole who dug his own grave.

8
Pickinpox 8 points ago +8 / -0

Guarantee the video that was being pushed first was edited to not show any of the struggle to get him to comply. Just as it is in most other cases, never the resistance just the aftermath. You can even hear the ex of GF telling him to stop resisting, sad

5
Alexcuse 5 points ago +5 / -0

If the full video shows the officers were following department protocol (where training materials taught the use of knee on neck) rather than being bad actors, then the police chief could get some blame on the incident and wrongful termination.

Also, based on below article, the black police chief Medaria Arradondo likely has a racial agenda too. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/01/us/minneapolis-police-chief-sued-department-2007-trnd/index.html

1
mike1231 1 point ago +1 / -0

I imagine those officers will sue the city and a lot more. They could have libel cases against any news saying they used an unauthorized hold since the PD manual says they can use it.

1
LLchurch 1 point ago +1 / -0

I said this when they got charged they'll counter sue and win but their city won't have money to pay out so that'll suck for them.

Funny thing is while bodycam footage is always going to be better-received than a written account, everything in the bodycam footage was exactly as the official police report described (IIRC), and that has been public knowledge for months, but no one covered that either.

George Floyd is just the new Treyvon Martin. Another race-bait hoax. Another con job enabled by ignorance, gullibility, and lionization of scumbags from a culture of moral, intellectual, and objective bankruptcy.

If they released the footage would socialists been able to come in to take over the movement? Would corporations large and small been able to pump money into the democrats as an excuse to fund BLM?

Nope.

This is why I no longer blame people believing any sort of "conspiracy theory". If you can't independently verify the party line, why would you believe any of their stories at this point?

I've had family members get the wuhan flu. They said it sucked, it was the most sick they'd ever been in their lives, and now one has liver damage. Another relative recently got it though and was totally asymptomatic and didn't even realize they'd caught it. If you were in an area without a full blown pandemic I don't know why you'd trust anything the government has to say about it after decades of lies like this Floyd story.

This is the issue with breaking people's trust. They'll never believe you again, even when you try telling the truth for once.

Any lawyer Pedes here that can shed some light on what the bodycam footage could mean for Chauvin's defense, as well as the other officers?

2
mike1231 2 points ago +2 / -0

Based on how controlling the neck and head is specifically described as a way for the PD in Minnesota to restrain a subject and the constant failure to follow orders and resisting I would imagine they have 0 chance to convict on the stupid charges they are going for.

For Chauvin a jury will get instructions as to what the state must prove to rise to convict someone for 2nd degree murder; that is proof beyond a reasonable doubt of intent and action taken kill a person. Murder 2 most notably has a section about Drive By Shootings in MN just so were clear about what type of murder would normally rise to that level. Even before this I had a lot of doubt the prosecutor could prove Murder 2 and after this I feel like they have 0 chance of a conviction and that this tape could certainly help get bail or get bail lowered for them.

The people demanding Murder 2 screwed themselves. Probably could have gotten involuntary manslaughter with this tape, but were too late for that now.
