Thanks for the input. He is only 15 so has some time to figure it out. I met a Fish and Wildlife officer while at work and had a good discussion with him. His route was military, degree then had to wait a couple years for the pool to open up. His suggestion was forgo the military and go to school for the degree 4 yr and be prepared to wait a couple to a few years to be hired. Also said he has to deal with not so fun individuals and of course most are armed in his field but that most of his interactions were great.
No problem. I would have never thought that would be such a hard job to get. Another possible route could be community college for associate then police and while being a cop use their tuition assistance for the next two years. Your department may not have it but worth looking into so he can take on as few loans as possible. Even if he don't end up in law enforcement I hope he finds out what he wants to do. Best of luck.
