I just rewatched it recently, hence the idea for the meme. Yeah, it’s got some anti-capitalist undertones... but two points: The overall Orwellian concept is interesting and useful, and I have no problem viewing it and enjoying it in historical context (even if I don’t agree with the messaging); and two, I REALLY have no problem taking the original concept, subverting it, reforging it, and repurposing it, as I’ve done here.
