I became a Christian and she didn't want anything to do with it. It became clear we were just walking too different paths to continue together.

I have found that God's plan has always been better than I had hoped for. I never got what I wanted, but I'm so glad for it.

One time, some random shirtless old dude walked up to me and said, "we make all of these plans in life, but they just fall apart, and we're glad for it." It's something that has really stuck with me.

We make plans to walk with the Lord, we fail, we somehow end up walking beside him regardless. But God wants to see us try. Because though we might fail on Earth, we don't fail according to God's plan.

That was beautiful.

Thank you.

I've found a good and simple prayer is: "I will to do thy will." Often things turn out better than I imagined when I step outside of my ego.
