Consider yourself lucky.
The Bible says "do not be unequally yoked." i heard a pastor humorously describe it this way - to be "yoked" is from the old farming days when oxen would be yoked together to pull a plow or other implements. Someone who is not a Christian is spiritually "dead." If you are attached to someone who is not a Christian, you are dragging a dead ox around. And that's how it felt when I was in a relationship with someone who was not Christian.
Be glad you weren't more deeply involved, and find someone that you can share that part of your life with.
