I became a Christian and she didn't want anything to do with it. It became clear we were just walking too different paths to continue together.

Consider yourself lucky. The Bible says "do not be unequally yoked." i heard a pastor humorously describe it this way - to be "yoked" is from the old farming days when oxen would be yoked together to pull a plow or other implements. Someone who is not a Christian is spiritually "dead." If you are attached to someone who is not a Christian, you are dragging a dead ox around. And that's how it felt when I was in a relationship with someone who was not Christian. Be glad you weren't more deeply involved, and find someone that you can share that part of your life with.
