I honestly think Matthew's not right in the head due to this wreck.. he's not been the same man since. He used to have more personality but he's so solemn and akward all the time. His acting skills aren't as good as they used to be. He did Godzilla and Inspector Gadget back to back and sucked in both. Only good role he had was in Tower Heist. I think he has some screws loose.
The part that bothers me the most is the lack of humanity and decency enough to at least speak about it and apologize like a man; he hasn't done that once. He has no humanity to face the family; that's as shitty as you can get imo.
1989 was his last good year. He had Glory and he was also good in Harvey Fierstein's movie version of Torch Song Trilogy. He seemed like he had something to prove that year; a lot of the time after he's been sleepwalking through stuff very blandly.

Even if I didn't know he was a cuck, I've never liked him because he's an actor who doesn't even try to cross the uncanny valley of drama -- and I have extremely low standards for judging acting. Is that just his bit? Is that why he gets cast, because of his "I don't know how to act" shtick? Is he a subversive fucking genius and I'm too dumb to notice his subtlety? The most logical explanation for me is he either took the wrong way straight up or he was drunk and shouldn't have been driving. Either way it shouldn't have ever happened; he was rich enough he could have afforded a driver for him and Jennifer.
