If Trump gets reelected. If Biden gets reelected this most likely won't happen. Obama hated space exploration. He wanted to turn NASA into a Muslim outreach organization. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VivmarupwDE

Why do they need any more encouragement in that area? Muslims already boast about inventing everything and accuse white people of stealing from them. Same as the Hindus in India and African Americans.

47

Because you're not allowed to go to space, or the moon, because Allah IS the moon, remember? That's why he can't see you commit sins if you live on a lake, because the moonlight surrounding your pedophilia and bestiality makes him think he's looking into a mirror.

When your prophet is a monster, and your god is a fucking retard, chances are you're not going to put much investment in science.

In Red Mars, a book that took place during the time of the first few thousand settlers on Mars, one of the main characters laments how Martian residents have shockingly low literacy rates because lots of monied oil Baron types from the middle east brought harems of illiterate wives along with them.

It's crazy that a stone age civilization and attitude has access to rocketry and computers.

3
slaphappy2 3 points ago +3 / -0

Getting access to computers isn't much of an accomplishment in the year 2020 (:-)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moore%27s_law

Rocketry is a different matter altogether. I think the best they can do is to hire somebody like Elon Musk and pay him to put their "UAE Space Jihadis" brand on his rockets.

3
Sixty2ndAssassin 3 points ago +3 / -0

Red Mars and the subsequent sequels Green and Blue Mars tell an interesting story about the colonization of Mars but damn do they read like textbooks.

2
ManyDirt 2 points ago +2 / -0

They're hard SciFi, that's largely the point of the genre. I think red Mars has the most realistic colonization plan for the first 200 settlers of any sci-fi book. And it does have some interesting characters, the anger if the guy who was making the comments on the illiteracy comes to mind.

Cause Saturn, then a brown dwarf sun, was visibly close to earth they took the symbolism. After some chaos ,getting electrically zapped and put into another orbit by the sun, rules on earth changed (new testament).
The dumb thing with Islam is that they adhered to the old rules way after the new rules were already in place. The meteorite in their mekka cube might also be from the time when Saturn was "dethroned"(circumcised)

Depending on if you believe in the 16 year plan. Obama and Hillarys goal was to transfer our space tech to china and end our space program. As Space is the ultimate high ground and capturing it ensures global hegemony.

6
digital_daisy 6 points ago +6 / -0

The Bush family is helping out too. Dubya's brother, Neil, has a Chinese firm that just signed a deal with an aerospace giant that the Pentagon deems an arm of the Chinese army. The firm and aerospace company "agreed to cooperate on organizing the 2019 symposium, the exchange of international space innovation technology, and promoting international space expo projects.”

I feel you. I love people's enthusiasm for space exploration and such, but reality is a motherfucker. We are never going to be a Type 2 species, not even what we evolve into will ever be either. The universe is a pretty hostile and vast space. We are pretty much marooned on this planet. Mars will never be habitable, and you can't terraform it either. It doesn't have a magnetic field to speak of, which is pretty much why it doesn't have shit for an atmosphere and you won't be able to fortify one. Then there is the soil, filled with toxic perchlorates, which means you can't grow or eat shit there and the dust will kill you with constant exposure. And that doesn't even account how you body would adapt to less gravity and if it would shorten your life span. There are a myriad of reasons why it will never be practical to live there and humans will never conquer the planet.

Fuck, we already have an ideal planet here and we can figure out how to live in certain places here. It's cool to think about it, but we are never going to live on mars in any meaningful way. At best it will be a novelty.

On the one hand, your comment is factually correct. Mars is a dead planet, and its lack of a magnetic field is a major reason for that. Space itself is so vast, it's difficult to see how to cross the voids between stars even if we find habitable planets within 20-30 light years from us. It's definitely not something within our reach right now to be a true spacefaring civilization.

But of course that all negates future technological advances. It's very hard to imagine what those will be, but we can look at just the last 120 years and see how rapidly they can change humanity. And we simply do not know enough to say what is or isn't possible.

A better understanding of planetary core dynamics could lead to knowledge of how to reignite Mars' magnetic field, for instance, making terraforming a viable option. Breakthroughs in space propulsion and materials science could make generational arks a possibility, or perhaps we will discover that a warp bubble is something we can create in reality, not just with math.

Daunting, seemingly impossible goals should never stop us from reaching for them. On the contrary, it is the fact that they seem impossible that should drive us towards them. It has always been what has seemed impossible that we learn the most from when we make the attempt to prove it.

2
Master_Wyatt_Gurp 2 points ago +2 / -0

Mars has a magnetic field, its weak compared to Earth but all other planets we can measure are too. Earths is stronger than Jupiter's by relative size.

1
Dirk_Diggler 1 point ago +1 / -0

I like and appreciate your reply most of all. The problem is always thermodynamics and how it pertains to our advancement. That's was the context of me saying we are marooned. Getting matter to travel close to, at or faster than the speed of light, takes ridiculous amounts of energy, beyond just practicality. Even if I could convert your body and consciousness into a beem of light and aim you at a known habitable planet, and had some way to put you back together, this would still be a snails pace on the cosmic scale and you would still be distorted and corrupted by the universe itself being that theoretical beem.

Generational ships would be a curse to those that lived on them, assuming the could even withstand travel for the periods of time they would be expected to. Fuck you can look at earth itself as a Generational ship, and our ship and the people on it are pretty fucked up. Placing them on that microcosm would be disastrous to say the least. And that doesn't even consider the "Wait Problem" and the ethics a Generational ship.

I could go on and on. When I was younger, I had all these hopes and dreams of becoming a spacefaring civilization. Then I seen whats all involved, with distances, energy that would be required to simply traverse these voids, and that the speed of light is still laughably slow on a cosmic scale, even if we could travel at that speed. And as much credit as I want to give humanity, our meat puppet bodies just aren't going to withstand the hostile environments of the universe. Even if I could transfer you into a robot body, you would still not be able to do a whole lot as the universe would still decay faster than you could accomplish anything.

I know it's a fatalistic and defeatist approach, but I feel is the most realistic. This isn't some "just over a 100 years ago, people thougbt flight was impossible." No, that's not even close. People could see birds and bugs fly, it was just a matter of working the right bits out for us to harness it. It's not like we see other living things warping or traveling at the speed of light and all we have to do is figure it out. While I am grateful for humanity's advancements and to be living at this time, its just that science isn't magic, we can just discover some math problem like an incantion for a spell. Our achievement advancement is a game of diminished returns at some point.

Do I think we will continue to advance technology as a species? Yes. Do I think we are going to meaningfully travel space or become a type 2 civilization? Absolutely not. Just look at the cosmological horizon problem. Right this minute, we are losing access to an ever growing portion of space as we speak. My sentiment isn't to be discouraging, but realistic.

What are your thoughts on this part of a speech at NASA Kennedy Space Center earlier this year, including on the topic of the space shuttle program closing down: https://youtu.be/--99sqBGHMY?t=70

Including:

[...] 9 years ago [2011] [...] 2000 pink slips went out [...] over the course of the next two years, this area went from 15,000 jobs down to 7,500 jobs [...] the vision now is as bright as it has ever been [...]

The space shuttle program was shut down without any corresponding new programs as far as I know.

4
somethinga9230k 4 points ago +4 / -0

Good point, though it still seems like Trump is prioritizing space exploration, development and colonization to a much greater degree than Obama. And I am uncertain about whether the total funding decreased under Obama or not - see for instance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budget_of_NASA#Annual_budget . Though it is certain that the budget did not increase greatly, it instead fell considerably for a period of time under Obama.

Furthermore, Obama seemed to have proposed an asteroid mission as well as possibly enabling a crewed mission to Mars in maybe the 2030s, and no lunar mission, while Trump seems intent on giving all the necessary funding to accomplish a crewed mission to the moon in 2024. Trump seem to have a similar goal as Obama reg. Mars in the 2030s. And the budget for NASA seem to have increased considerably under Trump so far.

And firing thousands of NASA employees seem off - SpaceX seem really good at certain things, but wasn't and isn't there a very large amount of expertise, knowledge, etc. that NASA is still much more proficient in than SpaceX and other private companies? Such as fundamental research?

0
HCQaddict 0 points ago +2 / -2

I'm not sure if you want me to say Obama was worse. Of course. He was antiscience. Antieducation. Antilife. He left us for dead. It was intentional. Deliberate. China will not win. We have spirit! We will conquer the universe someday. I'm promining asteroids. Obviously there are factors that need proper study. If we enlarged the planet too much it is the same as trashing our environment. We need new standards in economics if we enlarge our planet with unnecessary amounts if gold and silver. Planetary anarchy (internationalism) needs to be rewritten in light of this new exploration front. Luxury Space Communism is a joke. We need physicists in space, not political types. Your space law isn't bigger than my space gun.

Edit: i take that back we do need politicians in space. One way tickets into the sun.

This is an under appreciated aspect of large scale space settlement. Essentially, any organization or individual with a rocket engine and a 30 meter asteroid becomes the equivalent of a de facto nuclear power.

That is going to require a rethink of policy and defense on a scale that has hardly been mentioned, let alone seriously examined.

BunnyPicnic 0 points ago +1 / -1

What kind of propulsion does it use? Until we figure out a way to bend space time, these are exploratory missions only. Unless we really would send a couple astronauts on a one way mission.

9
VoteCyborgTrump2040 9 points ago +9 / -0

Pfft, I could do that easily. Of course I could never pass the tests to become an astronaut, but confined to a ship for 9 months would be a cakewalk for me.

2
BunnyPicnic 2 points ago +2 / -0

You say that. But try to imagine nothing. You can't do it can you? When we think if nothing, we think of air. There's literally nothing in space. I imagine the signal from the ship to earth would take a good couple minutes to be received. Can't watch internet porn on that kinda connection.

1
VoteCyborgTrump2040 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trust me, this would be a cakewalk for me, provided we could bring some sort of entertainment. Like a kindle with books, and/or some sort of video games. I could do 9 months standing on my head.

Just treat it like an opportunity. Do a whole bunch of studying and then read some fiction for entertainment when you get bored of it. Or try to read as many classic books as you can. I imagine a lot of people could do it if they just thought about it this way.

But if there was literally nothing to do, then it would be really hard. I'd definitely need a kindle and maybe some other form of entertainment as well.

Having been connected to NASA through family members, I love space exploration.

But reading this tweet makes me think of the Tower of Babel. 🤔

V_exodus 2 points ago +2 / -0

And let's not have Antifa, BLM, Pedo-Cultists, Inter-galactic trafficking and George Soros Globalists on the Moon and Mars.

2
RenaissanceOfHope 2 points ago +2 / -0

Send the globalists and communists to Mars and let us Patriots stay on the earth. In exchange, we will not attack them and they will not attack us.

Red is the color of communism anyway so it is only fair that they get the red planet!

Where do I sign up? Return ticket not necessary. Engineer with lots of skills with tools and repairing things. Ready to build the moon base. Can I have a moon buggy too?

This is good place to recommend the series "For All Mankind". It's a pretty good show, it's an alternate history where the Russians beat us to the moon (but we got the first lunar base in 1972) and the space race never ended. Season 2 looks to be off the hook.

Season 1 covered June 1969 through Dec 1974...with an after credits scene in the finale of 1983.

It does have a little SJW stuff, but it's not too painful.

  1. Nixon's women, a group of female astronauts recruited after the Russians put a woman on the moon. so it kinda makes sense, since the Russians really did put the first woman in space in 1963.

  2. A couple of gay character that serve no real function other than how to show everyone is a homophobe.

Covfefe_Crusader -1 points ago +4 / -5

After hearing musk praise the chinese commies the other day, I don't want him anywhere near our space program. Fuck him.

I didn't hear what he said, but he's definitely a Trump voter. Unfortunately a Satanic parasite has latched onto him in the form of Jezebel. She apparently seduced him with sexual pleasure, including bringing in female celebrities for threesomes.

4
hondo1 4 points ago +4 / -0

You're right about that.

3
MrsHBarker 3 points ago +5 / -2

Everyone likes threesomes. Sex is not evil.

Herecomedatpresident 5 points ago +5 / -0

No but it's corrupting.

3
Brucesky420 3 points ago +3 / -0

Rich celebrities aren't "everyone". Most of them are pedophiles

Jeezy187 2 points ago +4 / -2

He basically jokingly said that the people in China don't bitch and complain about everything like in the U.S. He wasn't talking about republicans for sure.

3
Covfefe_Crusader 3 points ago +3 / -0

He just built a factory near Shanghai and would probably say and do anything that the CCP wants him to as well as not saying anything they do not want him to.

MrsHBarker -2 points ago +3 / -5

Elon-Chan is based af. You're looking for reasons to dismiss our biggest ally. Shush.

3
GnosticAwakening 3 points ago +5 / -2

Elon is compromised. His wife is a spy for the occult.
