I think it comes down to knowing how to read people and look for the right signs. In my neighborhood, I could go to a handful of homes and feel confident I'm reaching someone who thinks like me. The home is well taken care of. There will be flags up and things in the garage that indicate the kind of person they are. Now this is Texas and those signs are more prevalent, but I think it exists everywhere.

There are other indicators like someone who's apathetic or only concerned about promoting their own self interests. They keep to themselves, never put up flags or show any indication of who they are. Those folks are hard to read and I'd steer clear of them. The lefties are easy to ID. I can spot them a mile away.
