Yes, there's a new regulation just finalized by the Department of Health and Human Services. The regulation defines "sex discrimination" under Obamacare. The old regulation included gender identity in the definition of sex discrimination, while the new one does not.
It's fake news because the old rule was ruled unenforceable by multiple federal courts. It was, put simply, not a valid rule, and there were no protections to reverse.
The old rule was created in 2016 (while Obama was President), but before he left office a federal court issued a nationwide injunction against enforcing the rule on the basis that it changed the meaning of sex in the statute. A second federal court later agreed, and on October 15, 2019, the first federal court issued a final judgment, vacated and remanded the gender identity provisions as UNLAWFUL.

It's fake news because the old rule was ruled unenforceable by multiple federal courts. It was, put simply, not a valid rule, and there were no protections to reverse.
The old rule was created in 2016 (while Obama was President), but before he left office a federal court issued a nationwide injunction against enforcing the rule on the basis that it changed the meaning of sex in the statute. A second federal court later agreed, and on October 15, 2019, the first federal court issued a final judgment, vacated and remanded the gender identity provisions as UNLAWFUL.
Because of that, the old rule was never enforced. As a matter of law it NEVER EXISTED.
Anyone who says the Trump administration rolled back protections for transgendered people is either lying or an idiot. Or both.
