Me: I don’t think climate change is real.

Them: You don’t believe science?!

Me: I don’t think COVID is as bad as we’re being told.

Them: You don’t believe science?!

Me: I think there are only two genders

Them: You don’t believe, ummm, my feelings?!

Man made CC is real to an extent, but that doesn’t mean socialism is the solution

It's some part of the climate equation no doubt.

Out of the past million years though 900,000 of them have included glaciers down to about Missouri and sea ice down to Florida. If that trend continues, and it likely will, we might be glad for a little extra co2 in the atmosphere. Co2 levels are still fairly low compared to what they were historically as well, despite the screeching.

This is true, however rising water levels in coastal cities ain’t gonna be good. Wait.. Coastal cities... California... New York...

Second thought, maybe that will be good.

Honestly rising water levels is bull too, if that were the case, the libs that own oceanfront property would be selling it to get rid of it because "muh climate change" yet they aren't. Always follow the money.

Okay. Something most people don’t understand about rising water levels. It does not function the way the left says it does.

Water displacement is the name of the game. Arctic ice is mostly Sea Water/Salt Water...so, it’s already in salt water. The water is already displaced by the density of ice, even if it melts. Water levels will not rise. You can try it at home too!!

Take a glass of water, through in ice cubes till it’s near the top. Let it melt. I bet you it won’t overflow. This is because the ice will displace the same volume of water in either solid or a liquid state.

Why are we conceding this crap? Everything I've researched says it's complete crap and none of the numbers can be trusted.

if rising sea levels was in any way a real threat, Leftists wouldn't be spending top-dollar on ocean-front villas.

Milankovitch cycles dictate long term climate. The mechanisms coupling long term and short term climate are still "under review" by todays climate "experts"

"Man Made Climate Change is Real"

translates to

"The world would be different, without humans."

Hard to disagree with that! But where do you go from there?

That's why I love President Trump's Administration's focus on Clean Air and Clean Water.

Yep, pollution and it's direct impact on health is way more important than propping up globalist extortion.

Isolated_Patriot 12 points ago +12 / -0

But those are problems for which actual solutions could be enacted, that's just not the communist way, man!

JediMasterPepe 2 points ago +2 / -0

Most of the pollution in the world comes from China, Karen. Get your climate change propaganda put of here.

Mt st. Hellens eruption produced more co2 than all of human kind. Now, we also have other volcano's currently active.. nothing adds up ever

Answer: nuclear power.

Which, thankfully, Trump and some in Congress are supporting as well.

We have to get over the decades of fear mongering to finally get to that point. It also doesn't help when situations like Fukushima taint people even more to the point that they don't listen when you refute that with, "maybe we shouldn't build nuclear power plants in areas that have excessive tectonic activity AND are prone to tsunami's?"

Look at Permian era climate and what caused the series of extinctions. The ocean had to get up to 104 F, its currently nowhere close. Its worth noting that while Antarctica's west shelf is melting, its eastern portion is growing considerably.

My feeling is that the contribution by man is present - I'm old enough to remember flying into LA before they started cleaning the air - the sun is the most significant factor, and is so large a factor, it's ridiculous to think our best efforts to trash the planet are stronger.

But i do think we need a cleaner planet. i'm all for clean air and water, but not as a gateway drug to communism/socialism/globalist fuckery.

Exactly. Should we not be good sovereigns?

My point is that any deviation from "it is 100% settled science!" causes Leftists to scream that you're ignorant.

Shadilay_Were_Off 4 points ago +5 / -1

Glad to see this here. We know the damn climate is changing, but why do all the proposed solutions line up perfectly with leftist political goals? :bigThonk:

The left has had a fair bit of success with that.

  • Throw out raw data that doesn't coincide with what they want to prove
  • Use logical fallacies to build their cases
  • Personally attack critics and peers who give negative reviews
  • Pay researchers/scientists to do studies that return the results they want (this probably happens far more often than people want to think)

There was a couple of guys on Rogan last year or the year before who were submitting made up research on the goofiest shit they could come up with, to prove how much of peer reviewed science is junk science. Google Peter Boghossian & James Lindsay.

A lot of it got published, as "peer reviewed". No fact checking, it all just had the right keywords and social justice word salads.

Now imagine the pressure to rubber stamp anything in the climate change bubble.

The academic world is NOT happy with these guys.
