I suddenly have new love for my front lawn. Yes, mowing is a chore, and it's tough to get the watering right so it doesn't turn brown or sprout mushrooms, but now that I'm aware my front lawn is a gigantic troll to the far left?

Back later. Gonna give it a mow, some fertilizer, and some water.

Message me if you want any help with lawn care. I love the subject and learned a lot from my evil white supremacist black neighbors with beautiful lawns

I could use some help. live Close to the DC swamp.

Had some serious heat last few weeks followed by heavy rain past few days.

Think lawn went dormant bc of the heat but I have irrigation going 4:30am MWF. Tried adding another watering everyday at 2:30pm when the lawn is hottest just to try and cool it down. No fertilizer given this year

Neighbors lawns mostly look green but they are in shade. Just at the point now where I don’t know what it needs. I guess time will tell after this rain

If the temps get close to 90 cool season grasses, which I'm assuming you have, will start to go dormant. You seem to be spot on with the other yards being in the shade.

Say, I fertilized my pede grass back in may. Green af until a few weeks ago. Still greener than other lawns but I see some yellow. Should I wait till cooler temps to fert again to avoid burning it? It’s so tempting though...

There are plenty of fertilizers you can use during higher temps. You want organic slow release ones. Milorganite or carbon x are both pretty good. You can get the first in home depot or lowes sometimes. I believe you fert centipede twice during the season as it requires little nitrogen. You could also lay iron out to get a deeper green color.

Any tips for dog spots, other than trying to water immediately after they pee?

I havent read anything else that works. Some lawn nuts actually teach their dog to use only one corner, but that takes time
