I think I'll wait and acquire proof from an actual reliable source rather than one single comment from one random person on the internet

Little bit of digging and this is what I found. Marlin is owned by Remington, which is owned by Cerberus Capital Management.

The CEO is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Feinberg

"On May 11, 2018, U.S. President Donald Trump named Feinberg to head the President's Intelligence Advisory Board."

If Marlin is owned by Remington, then they were owned by the Freedom Group which was owned by Cerberus Capital Management, as you said. However, Cerberus is a pretty well known private equity firm, and this is how they operate - drive down quality to maximize profit margins, which works great for a little bit until people wise up to the idea and stop buying the overpriced/underquality shit. At that point the company goes under but Cerberus doesn't care because they have already recouped their investment (they hope) plus a nice return.

If this is what is truly happening to Marlin, then they really have only themselves to blame for getting into bed with a wall street firm that is known for this shit. This is less of a soros problem and more of a company (Remington) losing long term focus. Besides, it isn't like there's a shortage of firearm companies out there. After the lawsuits/recalls with the Remington rifles regarding their trigger fuckup, I took a look at Savage and liked what I saw.

This is a long term bad strategy for Soros because another gun company can always form and customers will flock to them as long as they make good shit. What's he going to do? Keep blowing money on every gun co that pops up like its firearm whack-a-mole?. Its pretty much exactly what happened when Bushmaster (of Maine) sold itself off to Remington/The Freedom Group. They moved production to Ilion, NY, and Madison, NC. Their quality control went to shit the rifles began to suck, and the original owner of Bushmaster was so upset by it that he went out and started Wyndham Weaponry (in Maine, kek). Basically the same shit he was doing before, just with a different name, and with the money in his pocket from selling his first company.

To this day, I won't buy a Bushmaster AR that isn't stamped with Wyndham, ME on the receiver....the NY/NC ones are that bad. I won't buy any bushmaster uppers since I can't tell if they were pre or post sale to the Freedom Group. I have a bushmaster that was made in Wyndham, ME and its been a great rifle.
