Good questions:
Deceived is probably a better word.
We know that our prayers and petitions are answered according to God's will. If we ask for something contrary to God's will (which due to His love for us, His will is always in our best interest), then our prayer will be answered in the negative.
In these instances, there is an opportunity for the devil to deceive us. My sentiments on this come from cautions from Exorcists.
Fair enough. But what do you make of Matthew 7:7? "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye. shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you".
And what do you mean by trick? Isn't a "trick" in the eye of the beholder, or rather the "tricked"?
