Because in order for a corporate acquisition to occur, MS would be able to do an audit, maybe even visit jyna (probably not), and have access to internal company documents that are inaccessible to us currently... which, subsequent to the acquisition, we could subpoena for national security.
If Trump had the goods on TikTok genuinely using spyware, I suppose he could continue the same surveillance after the MS purchase to see if they're acting in sedition as well, as a buffer for CCP or something like that.

Wouldn't you want the company building out your defense systems to also take ownership of and dismantle the spying apparatus of potential opponents and/or avail its capabilities to the US government for foreign intelligence operations?

I sure would but at this point everyone is so skeptical of everything, hence the comments above this one in the thread.
WINDOWS ALREADY HAS BUILT IN SPYWARE...WHAT IS REALLY DIFFERENT?
Use Spybot Antibeacon and you can close off MS spyware. You can also dupe most of those through dummy ports.
Linux is probably the way to go with running a VM for gaming.
Both are garbage, but I would say there’s a difference between American spying and CCP spying. 🤷🏻♂️
