I saw this pointed out in the other thread and I thought it was a great point - This guy is being wrongfully terminated on behalf of the public and now the public has to pay for it.
I think people knew what was going on and how it would play out before the termination even happened.
I thin the resignation and prohibition from future all political office for those responsible for his firing are a fair addition to the amount that will be awarded to the officer.
I hope he never has to work again after winning. What a hatchet job the whole thing was. Paul Howard the DA is a criminal, as bad or worse than that clown Ellison in Minneapolis.
This is actually super common for LEO's. They terminate the cop over controversial issues which are usually politically motivated regardless of whether it was lawful/justifiable. In most cases the cop gets his job back and wins a ton of money but politicians don't care, it's not their money.
