Id rather not live under an extremist violent ideology regardless of what side it takes. Id rather live under God.
This doesn't mean that communists and democrats today don't deserve the worst the world has to offer. This doesn't mean we can't take seemingly extremist measures to protect our country, like closing down the borders for several decades or keeping certain groups from every immigranting here again, among other things.
My fear and my slow realization is there is no way this can be fixed without some radical shift in the system. No matter what there must be a total up-ending of some form of government and institution for there to be peace. And that means pushback. I think we are feeling that pushback.
But they'd tell the church what could be preached, and your property had to be used the way the government told you to use it, which is private property in name only. National socialists did everything the regular socialists did, just with a transparent film of faux separation in between.
Martin Luther was a national hero in Germany, and Hitler was Catholic. The state did not interfere with the church because Christian religious expression was seen as part of the German identity.
You could own a house and a car. Germans were encouraged to save money to buy (get it? buy!) a Volkswagen. You could also own a business, or a bank account, or change jobs. While the State was the biggest actor in the economy, the State is the biggest actor in OUR economy too. It's always the biggest actor.
What you could not do was speak, act or protest against the State. This is horrible. This is also true in communist countries. So let's look at Communism real quick.
No massive starvation in Germany like in the USSR. In fact, Germany became a massive power after 15 years of a great depression and having territory taken away after WW1. Could socialism have done this? Of course not. The USSR, despite having all the natural resources you can imagine, imported food from the West.
I know we like to romanticize our past. But the result of World War 2 was to open a lane for the expansion of Communism, and now it's in our country. Was it designed as such? No one knows. But, hyper-progressive President during the war...maybe it was. Maybe the post-war nationalism was like the period after 9/11, a nation united....and faded away, giving way to Communist bullshit which opened our borders in 1965, infected our schools and media soon after, and we see the results now.
"What you could not do was speak, act or protest against the State. This is horrible."
This is not just "horrible," it is the root of the gross violations of liberty by the Nazi state. The Communist Chinese similarly claim not to interfere in religion, but it is plain from viewing a Chinese aboveground church that it is not the case. The Nazis were not concerned with theology, but they were very concerned with social beliefs. German churches who wanted to stay on good terms with the government had to expel baptized Jews and anything preached that was judged to be detrimental to the state (which depended on what the state thought might be threatening, not whether the pastor actually meant) risked government interference. And calling Hitler a Catholic is the height of ludicrousness. His actions betray that he was no more a Catholic than is Nancy Pelosi, no matter what he may have been baptized as. Furthermore, the ranks of the Nazis were rife with pagans and neo-pagans who preferred a non-Christian concept of God. It is true that the Nazis loved to use Martin Luther's writings, but only insofar as it aided the goals of the Nazi regime and the campaign against Jewish influence.
All of these violations of free religion and free speech are the primary evil of the Nazi government. I don't care if the trains run on time or if I'm starving to death if the state is arresting pastors and priests or forcing Christian Jews to be expelled from the church. You may consider eating horse crap superior to eating cow chips, but both are crap and have no merits that change that or make one objectively preferable to the other as a daily meal.
As for entering World War II, the comparison of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union make little difference. If we wanted to avoid war, then it was Japan we had to negotiate with. For that blame Roosevelt all you like. (Regardless, Japan also had a moral duty not to bomb Pearl Harbor when we hadn't committed any acts of war against them.) The reason we were at war with Germany was not the US's fault at all. In fact, Hitler could have avoided war if he wanted. His treaty with Japan did not include offensive wars, and Hitler was not obligated to join them when they attacked Hawaii. But instead, he chose to declare war on us anyway, taking any decision out of our hands. As abhorrent as FDR was, he was not the one who chose war with Germany. That was Hitler.
You just gave two options that require socialism and a totalitarian social order.
Is there a third option in there that allows for capitalism or liberty?
You're both missing his point. But, you're too smug to even bother considering that what he wrote was the message, not what you thought he was trying to conceal.
You said Nazi, Nazi's are extremely anti-capitalist and are hand in glove with socialism. The difference between communism and fascism is which totalitarian social order to put in place.
Would you rather your son be a communist tranny or a Nazi?
That's not the choice we face today. What we here are choosing is to preserve the Republic that has served America well for generations. We are choosing to preserve our liberties. And like the founding fathers, we choose to fight against authoritarian rule. None of the things that make this nation the greatest on earth have anything in common with the third reich.
Or don't pull ideological would you rathers with no good answer. You can understand and sympathize with Hitler and his peoples plight without condoning all the actions it lead to. After Hitler was smashed we should have just rolled over the soviets and avoided the cold war and communist infection of the USA all together... Sadly it was already underway.
The polish in me has little sympathy for either fucking one.
We were in no position to fight the Soviets, as much as Iy sympathize with Poland's plight of being situated between two monstrous regimes.
If we had more atomic weapons to drop and actually used them to win that war, would we have been any less monstrous? Fortunately we don't have to answer that question, because we were all out of a bombs.

The radical shift you refer to is the only good Marxist is a dead Marxist. We must not spare..
Correct. No quarter. We can't let this happen again.
False dichotomy
Under nazis you could
None of these were possible under communism
But they never tell us that
Wonder why.
But they'd tell the church what could be preached, and your property had to be used the way the government told you to use it, which is private property in name only. National socialists did everything the regular socialists did, just with a transparent film of faux separation in between.
Nope. None of this is correct.

Wrong. Read up on history.
Well, considering I'd be murdered for being Jewish, I think I'll pass. Thanks anyway.
You know it's kinda funny
On the far right of the political spectrum, under Nazism, people round up the Jews. On the far left, under Communism, Jews round up the people.
Another believer that all the Communists were Jewish? What a putz.
Yeah, some Jews gave up their religion to become communists. The worst Communist, Stalin, was not Jewish. Nor was Mao. Nor was Castro. Nor was ...
whatever, why argue with morons.
Why are you people so quick to abandon the principles of America's founders? Is it the shitty public education?
To the people downvoting this, you have been programmed and brainwashed into thinking that Nazis are the ultimate evil.
Let me ask you this simple question.
Would you rather your son be a communist tranny or a Nazi?
You just gave two options that require socialism and a totalitarian social order. Is there a third option in there that allows for capitalism or liberty?
In his mind, no. See, REAL Nazism just hasn't been tried yet. It'll work this time guise!
You're both missing his point. But, you're too smug to even bother considering that what he wrote was the message, not what you thought he was trying to conceal.
Don't let the Nazi apologist trap you in a binary choice.
Choose AMERICA!
Don't let the Socialist shill trap you into another war!
Choose America!
So there's no capitalist option for the future, socialism has won?
You said Nazi, Nazi's are extremely anti-capitalist and are hand in glove with socialism. The difference between communism and fascism is which totalitarian social order to put in place.
How about 'neither'?
False choice, feeble argument. Even in posing that argument, you want to deny people their right to the pursuit of happiness.
Upvoters, learn to recognize dishonest rhetoric like the false choice. You can detect when your mind is being manipulated, if you pay attention.
That's not the choice we face today. What we here are choosing is to preserve the Republic that has served America well for generations. We are choosing to preserve our liberties.
