When you carry a firearm in public, you have a responsibility to have a proper attitude and presence of mind based on respect for what that weapon represents and how it's going to amplify already tense situations. This is why a lot of guys choose to not open carry.

Garrett Foster was on video talking about his how haters are "pussies" and "won't do anything." He looked jumpy and nervous during his interview. This was not a man mature enough to realistically consider the potential consequences of what he was doing, nor the responsibility presented under the circumstances.

His death reflects his immature attitude. A lot of jokes are made about his very disabled wife that he left behind, but it's extremely sad that he didn't think ahead to realize that he'd be leaving her behind if things went wrong.

I worked for a quadriplegic guy as a home health aide for one of my jobs. I wouldn't wish paralysis like that on anyone. Your body becomes a prison. I think she's a quadruple amputee paraplegic, which means she has some mobility, but severely reduced obviously. The psychological trauma she's likely dealing with from losing all of her limbs and her husband in such a short timespan is probably devastating. It's seriously terrible.

As hard as it is, and as fun as the memes are, I try to remember that there's still humans with lives beyond this quagmire of a political hell we're all living in right now. It's very tragic that some guy got radicalized to the point where he died as senselessly as he did. He likely meant well, but his good intentions led him to a death that ultimately meant nothing at all, and left his loved ones in pain. He didn't die fighting for some legitimate noble cause. He was basically shitposting in the middle of the street and someone wasn't having it, so now he's dead and his family is left to suffer for it. Awful.

Well said. Unfortunately, I see less and less of the humanity in these people as time goes on.

Same. It's seriously unfortunate because it makes you realize why world peace isn't a realistic concept.
