Hitler declared war on America because Roosevelt/America was supplying Britain with war materiel and helping the USSR, among other things. Further, Germany honored her treaty obligations with Japan, as the US honored her treaty obligations with other belligerents. The only reason that Britain attacked Germany was because of their treaty with Poland. That, and Churchill's long standing animosity against Germany.
Hitler's megalomania was non-existant, just made up as part of the propaganda of the Allies. Same as people always call The Donald crazy, stupid, crooked, etc...
Grab a History book. Read same. Actually, the facts are usually there, even in ones with a bias agains Hitler. (Which they all are). When you see an issue that you think makes Hitler a jerk, do research on it.
Look up fuhrerprinzip. Hitler word was above all, he mismanaged his airforce, opened a two front war against his generals advice. Hitler destroyed germany through his actions. Why are you implying i dont know about soviet crimes? Im well aware and yet you dont see me writing posts slavering over stalin. You need to read a book. I recommend one of those kids books that have more pictures than words about all the cool guns and stuff, thats where my interest started when i was 10. If reading is too boring may i also suggest the excellent documentary series World at War.

Im not even sure what your argument is? That hitler was just a kind soul who only had his countrys best interest at heart? Actually forget the germans, I have to unironically ask are you even american? Hitlers actions and his allies actions led to the deaths of over 300,000 americans, why are you making excuses for him?
My argument is that we need to consider ALL of the facts; see who really caused the war, etc... Santayana quote and all that. If we have a clear understanding of what it is that we are discussing, it helps us use those facts in forming a better future policy.
