Not sure where that's happening at, but it's not taking place in my county. Went to Kroger last night and while they have a sign speaking on the shortage of change, they are asking that if you pay in cash to use exact change or round up to the nearest dollar.

Full disclosure, I live in rural TN, so that may have something to do with it.

I live in NC. I always have cash with my profession... Most places still take cash regardless of "coin shortage".

Rural- out towards where I live, it seems to be less of an issue.

How is it living in NC? I want to live near a beach so I'm trying to find a state similar to where I'm at. Florida is pretty similar, but I believe they passed a red flag law there.

NC is changing. Currently, a blue state with a weenie governor. I think a lot of people want him out. We've been in phase 2 since the end of May. We've been doing 2-3 weeks at a time. He decided he would announce yesterday that phase 2 remains for another 5 weeks... Why the jump? He's killing our small businesses.

A lot of the beach towns are mom + pop buisnesses. All this covid crap is going to have it's after effects.

South Carolina, Georgia & Florida currently all red States. South Carolina is traditionally more conservative. My bf lived there for 5 years, (we're both natives of NC)... There are people who would love to get rid of NC because we are rather liberal compared to them.

Florida has been a red state for almost a decade, I lived there as well.. probably. Good place to retire. I lived in the gulf coast.

Georgia from the little bit that I hear is pissing off the progressives, the governor won't make mask wearing mandatory so the mayor of ATL is t-ed off.

I love rural NC. Cities like Raleigh + Wilmington have grown with people from the North. I meet so many people from NY, NJ or Ohio.

I would love to move to SC one day, but my family ties keep me here.

Wake county in NC said too many people were getting their conceal carry + stopped allowing permits.. was then ruled unconstitutional.

If Dan Forrester can get into office, this election, I would feel better about this place.

We do have a mandatory mask law in place at the moment + from what I've heard going to have people to enforce. I can tell you right now the sheriff's in these small towns where I live aren't going to budge. They already stated when the law went into effect that they weren't going to enforce it.

Sorry, for the long read!

Thanks for all the information. It's truly does help. Speaking of retirement places, Naples seems like a good place to be. I've been considering just buying land near that area and just being closer of a drive to the beach and it should be a win, win.

No worries on the long read. I enjoy reading informative replies.

I live in Aberdeen near Pinehurst. They tried to riot here a little while ago because of the huge rich white community. But, they remembered that it's also home to pretty much all of Army and Air Force special operations.

So they behaved themselves then fucked off.

Look into Charleston, SC. It's unfortunately pretty liberal, but the state as a whole is based.

My wife and I were considering taking a trip over that way a little later this month as our vacation to the Bahamas was cancelled. TN isn't on the self quarantine list so I would think it should be fine if we do decide to go. The wife still hasn't made up her mind. I wish she would so I can book the hotel, but...

Then thank God for Bettie Page's native state. Still, the cash shortage is a cog in this machination.
