I remember going to school during Swine-Flu and two of my classmates were hospitalized and one of them passed away due to swine-flu complications.
School was never cancelled even though we literally had a death of a 14 year old boy.

See, here's your mistake: You think that keeping the schools closed is about the kids. It's not.
It's about the teachers' unions wanting to keep everyone in a panic until the election by scaring the shit out of the teachers and convincing them that if schools open back up, they are going to die.

I think it's more simple than that. Teachers are no different than anybody else, they are getting off only having to do a quarter of the work but still getting paid for it. I had a blast the first few weeks of the lock down. I literally got paid to sit on my ass and play video games all day while pretending to be productive. I realized though that it was temporary and strapped on my big boy pants when it was time to go back to work. Teachers should do the same.

Not all of us live where that shit is happening. My kid's schools still teach patriotism and citizenship, they sing patriotic songs for American holidays, they have Christmas, yes Christmas parades and recitals. My kids are actually missing out by not going to school and its unfortunate.
patriotism and citizenship can be learned more effectively in private with just 20 minutes a day, and you shouldn't need to the government in order to celebrate holidays.
Clearly you missed the point. I'm not saying they need school to learn things like that, I was pointing out that they were still teaching it, same as when I went to school, and when my parents went to school. Not every school system has turned into bolshevik black supremacists academies, we need to protect the heartland. If we let these schools crumble to those philosophies than our children are truly fucked. There's not much I can do for inner-city kids, they were fucked the day they were born.
