GOA is much more inline with what people think the NRA is. NRA has always been a joke and had a hand in every bit of infringement upon the 2A. GOA is highly effective and actually supports gun rights. Another good one is SAF, Second Amendment Foundation.
hear, hear for Second Amendment Foundation!!!! grannypede here...
I was in the CA Bay Area in the mid-60s...when Alan Gottlieb began to form the roots of TSAF. His free newspaper print handout told the story of the Jews in WWll, after gun confiscation, not being able to hold off he slaughter of people who they had forced into ghettos. Lots and lots of research and facts.
He vowed, way back then, to do all he could to prevent this from happening again.
TSAF was finalized in 1974, and is one doggone Pitbull.
Among their many other actions they offer, is a Registry of Attorneys by Region and State who will go to bat for you.
Believe it or not, they are Headquartered in WA State, a den of hard-core commies for sure...which is the sort of FU I really like.
That being said, a minimum membership in NRA seems to me to be responsible thing to do...For the general public is influenced by the # of people who belong to NRA, as most folks do not know of our many alternatives.
BUT, I urge you to give generously to the folks you determine are most worthy of your hard-earned bucks.
I joined the GOA 20 years ago and they haven't done a single fucking thing for gun owners. Larry Pratt is completely fucking useless.
You fucking zoomers who have been in the fight for all of three months should listen to the people that joined the fight back when concealed carry was 50 state illegal, 95 percent of gun owners were fudds and the only 2nd amendment case law from the supreme court was US v Miller. The NRA moved the ball forward while GOA whined the whole way about how cucked the NRA is and took people's money.
There are a lot of examples of orgs other than NRA moving the ball forward but none of them were associated with GOA. 90 percent of the proress we've made leads back to the NRA.
NSSF and SAF have both been helpful at the national level while state level orgs like VDCL and calguns have helped at the state level. But again, a lot of the state level activists like Marion Hammer are NRA people.
2nd amendment attorneys like Halbrook (NRA associated) and Gura (independent) have moved the ball forward a lot on their own, but again, no GOA to be found anywhere.
If you are in VA join the VCDL!
Can confirm, is legit
Why not both? Let the NRA run interference while GOA gets its ground game and membership up to strength.
Have them all and make them work together!
2A is the MOST important freedom. It is the SOLE purpose we are not commies right now.
What part of SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED is so hard to understand?
Ah yes every time the left takes our institutions down it's a bigly win for us.
skeptical of GOA. was pushed heavy on reddit - pretty sure they just want to weaken NRA
GOA is the real deal:

whats your point? you can find about 1000 videos of dana loesch doing thank kind of thing
So, then why are you skeptical of GOA? How did you come to the conclusion that GOA wants to weaken the NRA?

just my $.02
We need a CHAD flair.
https://gunowners.org/
Just became a member myself 5 minutes ago.
Don't know much about them.. have they actually been protecting gun owners?
GOA Wins Historic Mini-Victory in Virginia Court Case: https://gunowners.org/na07152020/
GOA Victories in Massachusetts & Maryland to Reopen Gun Stores, Shooting Ranges : https://gunowners.org/goa-victories-in-massachusetts-maryland-to-reopen-gun-stores-shooting-ranges/
They are the ground game that the NRA claims to be. NRA lobbies. GOA lobbies and actively sues government.
Firearm policy coalition

Tommy “Guns” Fitton should start a gun owner’s club. He actually gets shit accomplished and doesn’t back down.
Gotta admit I'd GOA for a quick look
